The audio-only button

Pulling a video's sound track without the video.

The ♪ button saves a video's sound only, as .m4a. It's Pro and costs 1 credit, like any other download.

What it's for

Keeping what's said without carrying the video: a hook you want to hear again, a delivery you want to study, or material to cut into something else. Audio weighs a fraction of its video.

Where it appears

When you hover a post with video. It doesn't appear on photos, because there's nothing to pull. Nor on YouTube.

It can be switched off in Settings → «Behaviour» → «Audio button».

If a video's audio can't be pulled out, you're told and nothing is charged. A credit spent on something that never arrived is refunded.

A story that's a photo

If you press ♪ on an Instagram story that turns out to be an image, it says so: «This story is a photo: there's no audio».
