DocsDownload and get the script
Getting the script
Free on YouTube, by minutes of audio everywhere else.
Turns what's said in a video into text. On YouTube it's free and unlimited; on every other network it's Pro and charged by minutes of audio.
How to ask for it
Hover a video and press ⧉. For several at once: «☑ Select» and then «📝 Export + Scripts», which also drops it into a spreadsheet.
Where it leaves it
You choose in Settings → «Script»: to the clipboard, on screen, or both.
YouTube: free
On YouTube the script comes back with timestamps and spends no credits, on either plan.
If a video has no captions there's nothing to copy, and you're told.
Everywhere else: by the minute
Outside YouTube a speech model is needed, so there is a cost.
- It's charged seconds ÷ 60, to two decimals: a 1 min 24 s video is 1.4 credits. Half a minute is half a credit.
- Before it starts, it checks that your credits cover the length of the audio. If they don't, nothing is done and nothing is charged.
- It's charged after, and only if it worked: if it fails, nothing is deducted.
- Photos have a script too — it reads the text on the image — and those spend no credits.
What leaves your computer
The audio only. The video doesn't travel, nor the post's address, nor the account name.
Very long videos
There's a size cap. If a video goes over it, you're told before anything is charged: «This video is too long to get a script from».
Where you do get scripts
On all seven networks. On YouTube it comes from the video itself and it's free; on the other six ViralFeed pulls it from the audio, and that's Pro.
